Get 2 School Network Update June 17, 2020

The Get 2 School, Stay in the Game Network prioritizes the health and safety of its partners, including Ohio’s students, educators, families and community leaders. As we continue to navigate these challenging circumstances and approach the end of the academic year, it’s important for students to remain engaged by maintaining consistent communication with teachers, attending remaining virtual instructions or meetings, and completing assignments on time.

NFL Inspire Change: Get 2 School, Stay in the Game!

In the month of January, the Inspire Change initiative showcased how the NFL family is coming together to ensure that access to opportunity is a reality for all and to create progress in police-community relations, criminal justice reform, and education and economic advancement. As part of a series highlighting Browns community engagement efforts, the Cleveland Browns Foundation featured the Get 2 School Network’s approach to reducing gaps within education, ultimately removing barriers to economic achievement. Read More >>


My Cause My Cleats: Joe Thomas

Through collaboration between the NFL and players, current and former athletes across the league represented hundreds of non-profit organizations and programs focusing on a variety of causes through the My Cause My Cleats initiative. Cleveland Browns Player Video Messages

Have you checked out our Cleveland Browns player video messages, encouraging educators, students, parents/caregivers and members of the community to make strong attendance a priority? Video messages can be used at any event educators see fit, but a few initial ideas are school assemblies, back to school events and educator professional development opportunities. 

In addition, these player messages make for spectacular classroom activities! One neat exercise is to have students close their eyes and guess which Browns player is speaking.

From their personal stories and background to learning styles and preferences, you modify and tailor your efforts to reach each scholar individually. Check out our Educator Resources page designed to assist in improving attendance by offering four action steps with exciting tools and resources, ultimately impacting student success.


Attendance Tracker

Our students are our most valuable resource, and we want to help ensure we’re making positive strides towards success. One of the most important things students can do is track their attendance and know how many days of school they have missed. To assist students and families keep a strong pulse on their absences, we have developed an attendance tracker that can be used throughout the entire school year.


Network Launch Event

This August, hundreds of students, educators and families gathered at FirstEnergy Stadium to officially launch the Get 2 School, Stay in the Game! Network. The event took place prior to the Cleveland Browns 2019 Orange & Brown Scrimmage and featured a series of speakers such as Cleveland Browns Owner Dee Haslam, Ohio Superintendent of Public Instruction Paolo DeMaria, broadcaster Jim Donovan and Browns alumnus Michael Lehan.
