NFL Inspire Change: Get 2 School, Stay in the Game!

In the month of January, the Inspire Change initiative showcased how the NFL family is coming together to ensure that access to opportunity is a reality for all and to create progress in police-community relations, criminal justice reform, and education and economic advancement. As part of a series highlighting Browns community engagement efforts, the Cleveland Browns Foundation featured the Get 2 School Network’s approach to reducing gaps within education, ultimately removing barriers to economic achievement. Read More >>

My Cause My Cleats: Joe Thomas

Through collaboration between the NFL and players, current and former athletes across the league represented hundreds of non-profit organizations and programs focusing on a variety of causes through the My Cause My Cleats initiative. As part of the initiative, Cleveland Browns alumnus Joe Thomas featured the Get 2 School Network this past season on Thursday Night Football. Check It Out >>

Cleveland Browns Player Video Messages

Have you checked out our Cleveland Browns player video messages, encouraging educators, students, parents/caregivers and members of the community to make strong attendance a priority? Video messages can be used at any event educators see fit, but a few initial ideas are school assemblies, back to school events and educator professional development opportunities. 

In addition, these player messages make for spectacular classroom activities! One neat exercise is to have students close their eyes and guess which Browns player is speaking.

To help Ohioans address chronic absenteeism, the Get 2 School Network prioritizes the four following steps attendance teams can incorporate to take action. Preferably, these steps should serve as part of a partnership that includes educators, parents, community partners and others in the context of a broader school or district continuous improvement plan.
